Too Many Tabs Optimizer does not collect, transmit, store remotely, sell, or share any user data. All information stays on your device in Chrome’s local storage.

Data Storage

The extension stores the following data locally:

Data Collection

This extension collects zero personal data. Specifically:

• No browsing history is collected or transmitted.
• No page content is read or stored (except detection of unsaved form input, which is a boolean flag only).
• No analytics, telemetry, or usage tracking of any kind.
• No cookies, fingerprinting, or cross-site tracking.
• No external network requests are made by the extension.
• No account, registration, or sign-in is required.

Permissions Justification

alarms	Schedule periodic lifecycle checks for suspend, close, and organize timers.
activeTab	Capture a visible tab screenshot before suspension to generate a thumbnail preview.
tabGroups	Create and manage native Chrome tab groups when organizing tabs by domain.
scripting	Inject a lightweight content script to detect unsaved form input on web pages.
Host permissions (http, https)	Required for the content script (unsaved input detection) and for capturing tab screenshots on all websites.

Third-Party Services

This extension does not use any third-party services, SDKs, libraries, or APIs. It is built entirely with vanilla JavaScript and Chrome extension APIs.

Data Retention

All data is retained locally until you uninstall the extension or clear Chrome’s extension storage. Tab activity records for closed tabs are pruned automatically. Thumbnail storage is capped at 30 entries.

Children’s Privacy

This extension does not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under 13.

Changes to This Policy
